2025.12.2207:23:53UTC+00Danish Q3 GDP Growth at Nearly 4-Year High

Denmark's economy experienced a 2.2% growth from the previous quarter in the third quarter of 2025. This rate is 0.1 percentage points lower than initially estimated, yet it represents an acceleration from the revised 1.3% growth observed in the previous period. This growth signifies the fastest expansion since the fourth quarter of 2021, largely driven by robust performance in the pharmaceutical sector. Additional contributors to GDP growth included the information and communication industry, along with public administration and services. Net external demand also had a positive impact, with exports rising by 3.5% opposed to 4% in the second quarter, and imports declining by 0.1% compared to a previous increase of 2.7%. Furthermore, government spending increased to 1% from 0.5%, while household expenditure grew from 0.2% to 0.3%. Fixed investments made a rebound of 0.8% following a decline of 0.2%, spurred by a recovery in housing, rising 2.9% from a previous decrease of 1.5%, and in intellectual property rights, which rose 2.5% after a fall of 2.8%. On an annual basis, the GDP saw a 4% increase in the third quarter, marking the strongest growth in three quarters, following a 2% increase in the previous quarter.
